Are The Iraqis Ready?

Good question and according to Bush they are and are doing a good job in Basra, leading the fight against the Shi’a extremists and gangs.  But the truth is that it is US airpower and the Special Forces that are making the difference.  Without that assitence the Iraqi army would be in deep manure.

What does this really mean?  well without air support the Iraqis will need the US for the next generation or so to keep the dream alive, at least Bush’s dream, that is.  That also means that the US will be in Iraq and dying for a long time—no matter who is president.

Happy now?!?

All Is Well In Iraq

I listened to your prez the other day about just how well the war is going.  He cited that the Iraqi government has allowed ex-Ba’athists to return to government service.  I found that a bit humorous.  It was Bush’s butt boy, Paul Bremer, that made it a no-no to be a Ba’athist.  But now it is a good idea–do-do–it was a stupid idea to eliminate them in the first place.  This whole scenario of success might have been done a lot quicker if someone had thought it over first.  Anyway does anyone really know what a Ba’athist is?

                                                WHAT IS A BA’ATHIST?

If you geek out on news, especially news from Iraq, then by now, you should know the difference between a Sunni and a Shi’a………..(waiting.  tapping fingers.  waiting)  Ok, maybe now…(waiting)  CRAP!  Ok, basically, the difference is the shi’a believe that the leadership of the religion of Islam must be lead by a direct descendent of Mohammed, Sunnis do not.  Now, that is the simplistic definition.  Can you dig it? (yawn).  Let us move on…since the US has put troops into the Iraqi countryside, we, the news hounds, have been bombarded with term after term after term.  I just want to hel[p those people understand just a small bit of what is what.  That way if they are against the war or for, they will have at least a small bit of knowledge..

My favorite part of the whole Iraqi thing has been the end of the war when the US was doing the de-ba’athifacation of the Iraqi army, that is trying to purge any loyal Saddamists from the army and police.  Saddam was the leader of the Iraqi Baa’th Party and controlled all the army and police in the country which was a marvelous idea, once they did that, there were no experienced military or PD people and then we decided to train some to take their place.  Now there is a plan that went absolutely nowhere.  The trained people are barely adequate and that is at best.

Then one of the mental midgets in Washington had an epiphany.  And what was it—do tell!  They said why not re-Ba’athify the army and the PD.  Good plan, dill-hole!  The US and its Iraqi counterparts would find some Ba’ath Party members and reintergrate them into Iraqi services.  It is just amazing how perceptive these morons are.  What a plan, I am thoroughly impressed.  NOT!

Now I will bet you are asking, What the hell is a Ba’athist?  Well in Iraq, in 1952 the Arab Socialist Party was formed by Rikabi.  All Ba’athists parties and there were many across the Arab world in the 1950’s, were pan-Arab or super nationalist.  This was possibly the last time that shi’a and sunni agreed on anything.  All Ba’athists were anti-Brit and pro-Arab.  The Ba’athists were not really for the common person their goals were all self-serving.  Even though they were called a socialist party they held very few socialist ideals.  Look at Saddam he was more fascist than socialist.  Their main concerns were the overthrow of any all pro-Brit leaders and to assume power for themselves and I do mean — themselves.

So, now the US wants to reintergrate Ba’ahists into the government–what are they thinking?  Let me see if I have this about right–We want to give people who are self-serving and despise us the reins to the army and police.  Is that about right?  We want to re-arm them and give them training in military ops–and why do we want to do this?  Does anyone know what a coup is?  Can they spell it?  Can they not see how much in error this plan is?  If and when, Iraq is ever a peaceful country and life returns to somewhat of a norm; they have created another Saddam and his policies and they will be waiting for the proper time,  And when they take over all eyes may turn to the morons in Washington and thank them for the return to chaos.

I have witnessed a lot of mis-cues and blunders in my years of political analysis but this bone head move is by far the most moronic, stupid and unintgelligent decision I have ever witnessed.  How do they do it?  And to beat all, they get paid really well for stupidity.  I could not have pulled this much stupidity out of my ass on my dumbest day.

Where do they find these people?  Never mind

It’s The Economy, Stupid–Part……?

Gee in the last week everybody and his brother has made a major speech on the economy.  Finally, they are noticing.  But one is a pep rally, with few specifics and the few that are given are so vague that they can be adjusted to anything and still be within the lame promises.  then there is another candidate that has the position of just wait and see what will happen.  Now there is a plan that we all can get behind.  And the last one was a pretty good speech that outlined several ways to try a repair a failing economy and it was about the first time that the word “recession” has been used in a major speech by a major candidate.  That part was refreshing.

Everyone still embraces the corporate line, where if business is doing good then the people will do good.  I am not going to say that.  If the consumer cannot buy then the economy will stay weak.  If they are only concerned with the investors and speculators then the economy will be good.  At least through their eyes, but the American taxpayer will remain in the crapper.

I want to hear specifics on how these candidates are going to put more money in the hands of consumers.  Until that happens nothing they do, promise or think will help this sagging economy.

Some Say Democratic Party Is Ok

Some of the media’s conservative pundits, which they are numerous, are all saying that Clinton is just tough and that all those calling for her to drop out are just liberal elitist or just wimps. Come let us be realistic—these people are conservatives, no matter how they try to be “fair and balanced”. They would like nothing better than to see the DP implode.

Their comments and opinions are nothing more than self-interest, not news. They gave up being a “reliable source” of news when they take party lines on major stories. If the truth be known, they are in the corner of their little offices masturbating at the thought.

Of course, everyone interviewed on air is saying that it is just politics and the the DP will be fine. They all cite the same thing, that in the Fall the DP will be united. Recently Bill said it is just politics and if one does not want to get beat up then they should not run. Is this the same man that was bitching about beating up on his wife? The arrogance of these people just amazes me at times.

New poll show Clinton’s negative rating is at 48%–that is not a good sign and it does show that there is a crack forming in the DP.

Regardless of what all the public faces are saying, there is a divide forming in the Party. In my state, there are two DPs and they are being divided along race lines. And when asked why among these people they almost to a person say that the Clintons are doing this. Black voters are angry that the man they gave their trust too in the past is betraying that trust with the racial and other attacks against Obama.

The DP must tread lightly or the conservatives will get their wish—a diminished Democratic Party.

Iraq: The Perfect War

WTF, Professor?  It is the perfect war, at least for al-Qaeda.  Why?

1–a poster event for recruitment into extreme Islam.

2–It is viewed as an East-west conflict feeding the flames of extremism

3–It puts non-Muslims in the heartland of Islam

4–Infidels in the Holy Cities of Islam

This war could not have done anymore to increase the influence of al-Qaeda if it had tried.   Regardless of the spin, the world is NOT safer because of the invasion of Iraq.  You know it and they know it.  It continues because it is good business.

Clinton Calls On Congress

Clinton returned to one of her major campaign themes Monday — the economic impact of the home mortgage crisis — and called on Congress to provide $30 billion to help states and communities lessen the number of foreclosures.  Think about that for a minute.  (pause)

How nice, but what will this do to help people in trouble?  Not a damn thing!  It will possibly make her a bit more appealing to the voter, but as far as any help goes….they will continue to wait.

Come on, people….ok…I call on the Congress to raise minimum wage to $10 an hour and to provide health coverage to all people and to shit hole the E85 comedy.  (pause)   Now do I get your vote?  Hell no, you have no idea who I am and that I am delusional to think it will happen because I ask for it.

BINGO, bird brains!   I will not happen because Clinton calls for it.  Grow up and use your head for something beyond a hat rack.

When Oh When?

Will someone, anyone, within the Democratic Party grow a set of cajones and tell Bill to shut the F*CK up? When will this poor pitiful Hillary bullsh*t play out? When will he let the crap subside and return the issues?

He has used race, he has used gender, he has used threats , and now he uses the time honored tactic of questioning someone’s patriotism. The best part is it is everybody’s fault but his. What a delusional dipstick. This whole attitude that somehow Hillary is the “monarch” awaiting coronation is bullsh*t.

Please someone stop this arrogance before it is too late. I want to hear how my mortgage is gonna be safe. I want to hear that someone has a plan to lower fuel costs without totally f*cking up the environment. I want to hear about plans for my children’s education. Get the idea?

I do not want to hear him. I still recall the damage he has done to the media, trade, jobs, poverty and other stuff while he was president. in my mind he is not helping the person that was there when he did this damage. The more he talks the more I would vote to Bugs Bunny before I would Hillary.

The Smartest Man In The U.S.

We just marked the 5 yr anniversary of th Iraq War.  Nearly 4000 dead, many thousands wounded, and half a trillion dollars later.  What have we learned?

We learned the the government lied.  we learned that they had no idea what to expect in the days after the fall of Baghdad.  But wait!  That is not necessarily true.

Ever hear of Dr. Zbigniew Brzezinski?   He was the senior foreign policy adviser to Carter.  And quote possibly the smartest man in the US.  Why do I say this?  Simple, on the day the Iraq war began he gave an interview and told everyone that it was a mistake and would be a disaster.  When asked why he felt this on March 19, 2003, he said:  there was no substantial evidence of WMD, he also said that this war would bog US forces down in Iraq for many years, and that the US would lose a lot of international credibility and that it would make the US more susceptible to retaliation.

The problem no one was listening, especially Congress who ran blind folded into the war.  Now he has been proven to be correct in his predictions.  Maybe it is time to take this smart man seriously and ask him the best way for the US to extract itself from Iraq.  Whatever plan he suggest has got to be better than the one we have now.

Will It Ever End?

Yesterday we witnessed the 5th anniversary of the start of the war in Iraq.  Today begins year #6 and are we any closer to coming home?  McCain has said that we could possibly be in Iraq for 50 or 100 years.  Clinton has said she will begin bring the troops home on “Day1″, God I hate that saying!  And Obama has said he would try to have the troops home in 16 months.  All are probably true statements.  But  a campaign promise is not policy; it is however, a lie told to voters to win their vote.

The Congress is the key.  If there are not enough votes to carry to issue then they will stay in Iraq.  Thee is the possibility that the new prez would take it on his/her own shoulders to bring the troops home.  this is NOT a possibility, IMO.  Why?  We are living in a war economy.  The war is big business and who do you think runs the nation?

I just want the voter to be realistic, the troops will pull out of Iraq slowly to give the appearance of keeping a promise.  but the bottom line is ALL troops will be out of Iraq when business says they can come home.

Sorry to burst that fragile bubble.  reality sucks!

Was That A Speech Or What?

Obama gave his speech and if you do not know about it then go back to sleep or screw the chicken or just go away! It was an all inspiring speech, if you are a person that has a logical mind, or at least an open mind. Will not change the fact that Obama is not doing well with white men? Probably not! Those voters will blame government programs for all their problems, when in fact it boils down to they are f*cking racists.

It did not change the minds of old white guys in the South. These voters will die racist. Or they will have to commit suicide if they had to vote for a black guy. They control a lot of the governmental machines in the South and there lies the problem. Maybe with the death of these racists the South could finally move into the 21st century. But until then, may I suggest that if you go to the deep South, then set your watch back 150 years and you will be alright.
